Pier House Restaurant & Motel in Clayton

Wonderful location in a casual setting. The kids enjoyed watching the waves and fisherman on the pier while we waited. The service was great and the food was good! We went out on the pier after dinner and the kids watched some fish reeled in. Great place!!

Steeny and Valerie were an impeccable combo behind the bar—serving up Tito’s and Soda like it’s going out of style. Great spot on the pier to booze long into the night. Will definitely come back again. Probably tomorrow when I wake up.

OBX beach rocks...”we thought we were going to the fishing pier but there was a restaurant on it and we liked its ambiance as it has an oceanfront bar. We decided to have some drinks. We were sitting outside though it is open from all 2 sides. Colorful chairs- down the platform waves bumping to wood logs. View of the fishing pier and sunset time... quite an amazing view. Such a relax moment. We ordered common drinks like blue moon and mojito. There was one cocktail, hurricane, mix with dark rum and vodka. Great drink.There was a live band from 7. Live music-lovely place and amazing view.A good time it is...!!And how can I forget Emily? Emily served us. she is a sweet girl with all smile on her face. Seems she was covering half of the table out there. Way to go..!!

If you sit outside, the atmosphere is great, with the surf crashing in the background. The food is not amazing. The oyster po boy was done well, but everyone else's meals were lacking. If you want bar food on the ocean, come here.

Best bun for tuna sandwich money can buy! Not even close! Seriously maybe toast it, add a little butter.. Tiny!! Steamed shrimp for NC ?? Better shrimp at the Thirsty camel. Stop being so greedy just because you have the location! Pitiful you should be embarrassed.

We left Coconut Grove after no power for 6 days after Irma. Saw all the bad reviews. Had to watch football game. Weve been 2 OBX before. So were all about the seafood. Also they got the NFL PACKAGE. Came with family. Walked the pier. Had cold beer. Watched my Miami Dolphins. Ate good fried baskets of clams, Flounder & scallops. Over all the Pier walk pushed this to a 5 star.

Stopped by Friday 10/4 for lunch. Waiter could care less ...got order wrong, argued he was right. Place is nasty..food was slopped on plate...did not eat as he came by picked up and threw in trash. My last trip. Stopped by restroom on way out...looks like it was never cleaned. Kept going.

Visited during the breakfast rush. Mom and pop/diner kind of feel. Pleasant servers. Ordered simple and got simple. Not great, nit terrible. Do love the location.

Just letting everyone know that this is the third time I tried to come here and they close 3 hours early. I paid for uber to get here and I don't understand how they could just be so dismissive about it either. Each employee had different information and answers about hours of operation, which makes being a patron near impossible for out of towers. Save yourself the time and don't bother on going.

Pass this one by. Hair in food, then wanted me to pay for other entree. Nope. Paid for beer and left.

Awful food half cooked and just nasty breakfast, tried dinner and it was worse. The food had no flavor I had a chicken sandwich the bun was cold and the chicken was half cooked. ( PLAIN).OVER PRICED!!!

Beautiful view but very rude guy in the front of building in charge of the store. I won't be going back. and also the bathrooms was discusting. Nice lady in the back though by bar.

It was ok. It was a normal small town diner at the beach. Staff was good if not short and quick, the food was alright. We ate breakfast there before leaving the beach.

My wife and a group of her friends went there this past weekend for their annual girls weekend. They asked for a table for 8 and were given 2 tables for 4. When they pointed out an open table for 8 to the hostess, she told them that was for paying customers. They were there for dinner, do that’s what they were. They ordered Lemon Drops which my wife said was horrible and crab dip which was cold and tasteless. The stuffed mushrooms were good though. Their waitress Alice was very nice and apologetic. In spite of that, they left and went to another place where they had dinner and several drinks. That made them paying customers. Last time they’ll go to this reataurant

I think some of the reviews here are for the bar next door, which I can't vouch for, but I had the best fried fish sandwich of my life in this place! Simple, GOOD seafood. My friend also raved about her crabcake. Everything was so fresh and our waitress was funny and friendly. Add the ocean view and it was just a great experience.

My mom, daughter and I came here for some drinks and food and it was a ripoff. Their martinis are severed in little plastic cups and totally watered down. Their food come our not only looking bad but didn't taste great at all. I do not recommend.

A must go if you are in the area! My family goes every time we visit Outer Banks!

Food was delicious!! We had seafood and burgers and it was all great!!

Went for dinner. One or two other people in the restaurant at around 6:30-7:00pm. Service was alright, food was terrible. I ordered chicken tenders. Chicken was barely cooked through, the breading was not crispy and fell off easily. The worst part was the tenders were wet on the inside somehow. Never had that anywhere else. My wife ordered a steak wrap. Lots of pieces of inedible meat in there. Fries were cold. Would not go there again.

My wife and I had breakfast here. The sevice was horrible the food was even worse. The staff was rude to us and everyone that came in after us. They're WAY! overpriced. We paid almost $40 for a bad breakfast. My wife was served water with a big chunk of fish stuck to the Inside of the cup, on top of that her cup was cracked and leaking. It took forever to get a replacement and that cup had a crack and leak too. And if that whole experience wasn't bad enough we tried to walk out on the pier and a grumpy old man who may have actually been the owner, told us we needed to buy a pass. I told him we just spent $40 in his restaurant. He tells us he didn't care. If we wanted to go out we had to get a pass. He only gives free passes to dinner customers.We've eaten at a lot of great places down here. This wasn't one of them. We won't be back. Their are other piers with restaurants in the area I strongly suggest going to one of them instead.

If you’re a fan of overpriced food and ridiculously loud singing then this is the place for you. You have to walk through the gift shop to get in, the the restraunt is seperated into two different parts. A guy played guitar with his mic and amp way to loud, even for me, which I play drum set so usually noise isn’t an issue, but not with his voice. After the guy was done singing, an old white-trash lady came over to the mic and yelled at people to clap. (She was also leaning on the guy’s ab and dancing while he was singing.) The man then announced that he was going to sing christen songs, and we almost left. All of the the food looked frozen, and tasted mediocre, though the price was $$$. Not recommended for anyone.

Great place to hang out on a warm day, sip drinks, listen to music and enjoy the view. Food is good for fried food, but could use some more variety.

Guy on the counter has bad attitude no good help and unfriendly if you ask for advice or reference about the fishing pier. Well not recommend this place to anyone.

We always come in a large group and we are quickly seated. The wait staff is always friendly and eager to please. We’ve gone here for several years and we all enjoy it.

We went for breakfast and although they looked really busy we got seated right away. Staff was very nice and checked in with us often. Food was great! Great view too! It really has the feeling of being a locals kind of spot.

Terrible and rude service and very bland food! This place has been in a downfall for years and the owner neglects to do anyting about it. This place is in very serious trouble and needs a front house manager and a kitchen manager that knows what they are doing the owner keeps this guy Brian behind the bar as a manager who knows nothing about the restaurant business and he also has Mexicans working in the kitchen to save money when he should hire competent Cooks these ratings are real on here and you have been warned to stay away from this place for your own health.

Excellent fried oyster basket. Best shrimp po boy on the beach!! Mini crab balls appetizer good. $5 Tequila Sunrise mixed drink very good! Fantastic views while dining & Nicki the server was phenomenal!!

I went here with my family for lunch looking for a table of 7. Knowing that this is a large table, we were trying to be accommodating, and told them we could spilt the table to two separate ones. The restaurant had tables available and the hostess wanted to seat us, but the waitress refused to serve us. Furthermore, the waitress didn’t know my husband was in ear shot and called him an a__hole. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

My family and I go to the pier every year on vacation. We decided to grab a bite this year as something new. The seating was nice and on the water; however, the food was TERRIBLE. I ordered the special drink of the day and when it arrived it was made wrong. Before I could get a sip the waitress came over with a bottle of cranberry juice to add it to the drink. Once I took a sip it was terrible (basically pineapple juice) and I couldn't finish. I didn't say anything. The food came out and was disgusting. It was cold. The stake was super chewy, the hotdogs were the cheapest possible, and they gave me the wrong food (once it was infront of me I let them know. They than grabbed it and gave it to he people a table away, ew). Ontop of everything the food was rediculously over priced (our waitress told us one price and then we were billed another). Will not be returning. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Where the locals go to get homestyle meals at a reasonable price with old fashioned service. Awesome view of shoreline activities.

We had lunch here today. The food was very good. I had a shrimp cocktail and salad, my husband had popcorn shrimp and french fries. His food was served hot and was very good. My shrimp cocktail had 8 shrimp which was a good amount for the price and the salad was tasty. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Simple, affordable food. The ocean front dining was a bonus!

Just had the worst experience ever!!! Been coming to Nags Head Pier for breakfast for years and have always had great service. Our friends came to Captn' Andy's for some drinks on Wednesday and said it took them 35 minutes to even be acknowledged! My husband and I wrote it off as one bad experience and decided we would go there tonight for some food and entertainment. Let me tell you...that was one BIG mistake!!! We had 3 servers pass by us without even a "someone will be with you soon". We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks and the hostess was probably one of the rudest people we've ever met! It is discouraging knowing we own a house here and can't even recommend this place to our friends when they come on vacation. What an embarrassment!!!
